Vivian is 33 years old and head mistress of an elementary school in Guatemala. She has significantly benefited from the project ,,Calidad Educativa’’ after being able to complete her studies at a teacher’s college. There she learnt about the teaching method „Enseñanza Abierta“ which she could successfully apply in her classroom. ICEP regularly sends Austrian volunteers to Guatemala to support the introduction and implementation of this teaching method, which is about communicating the learning content in a playful manner, an enthusiastic way of teaching as well as the creation of didactic materials from simple, cheap resources such as paper, cardboards, wool and fabric.
